... didn't have much of a chance. Between June and September of 1692 19 people were hung and 1 pressed to death. Finally Increase Mather, a preacher from Boston, put a stop to it all. ... climbing on some waterside rocks and taking in the view, we enjoyed incredible sandwiches at a bakery in Wells called Borealis. Got back in the car to head up to Portland, but were only about five miles from the bakery when nils got a flat tire! (His third in the last 6 months, something about the alignment of his wheels causing the inside of tire to rub and wear against the car).
