... rebuilt 3500 shops in 2 years (mostly funded by the 'sewing' industry) and they added entrances on the first & second floors. Then they graded the hillside and essentially raised Seattle up to fix all the flooding and the second floor became the first. Now you can do tours underground where you can see the original storefronts. And some stores actually have done theirs up and use them as part of their shops.

... is that? They were both great guys to talk to, here on impromptu holidays, which was also the case for Justin and Stephen, our Heads Up Canadians.

After this we all went out on a pub crawl in Capital Hill. It was a bloody long walk but worth it when we saw how cheap and big the drinks were. ... back but for now it's time to head back to the land of maple and bacon and get ready to leave our road tripping life behind. ... Kickin' Boot Whiskey kitchen in local Ballard. This was a favourite for me with a friendly atmosphere and belly warming home style cooking. I sampled the smoky slow cooked pork shoulder with a side of spinach and bacon with delicious home made white garlic sauce. OH YUMMMM. The girls were happy with their grilled cheese sandwiches and fries and Wayne enjoyed some sticky, smoky BBQ ribs!
