The foliage here is at the peak - lots of yellow and orange, a little red. The green of the pines makes an interesting contrast. Very beautiful!

Brian particularly enjoyed watching some elderly gentlemen fly fishing in The Tropphy Ponds - a famous section of the Connecticut River. They were fishing from a small bridge, much ...

I was able to find one inn down the road from the city center; only a 15 minute walk to both the city center and the waterfront, and a two block walk to Switchback Brewery (close to Magic Hat Brewery as well). Woke to blue sky. Within a few minutes a thick fog had descended but it lifted after about an hour. Breakfast was toast with jam or caramel spread, raisin toast, tinned sliced peaches, pineapples and mandarin segments as well as coffee and a few cereals. After Wes had finished his toast without any spreads he found that he could have had peanut butter - it is kept at reception to minimize problems with allergies.

After this we continued our day trip to Lake Willoughby, a beautiful lake created by the glaciers!! Where we joined the locals & went swimming!! It was a warm day - 78 degrees - perfect for a swim in a cool mountain lake! I found the most incredible rock in this lake, I'll treasure forever!!
