Noosa

We drove from Hervey Bay to Noosa for a stop over. We had found a cheap double room so I booked it - now we know why it was so cheap! The room was ok - we were sharing a unit with another room so we had a kitchen and living room. All sounds good but the guy we were sharing with was a bit strange. He owned a house in Noosa and ...

... a trip down to Noosa river for Fish and Chips with Wayne, Marg and the grandkids Kirra and Seb followed by an Italian hot chocolate (more like chocolate sauce – mmm…) When we got back, we all went a little hyper playing ‘Fact or ****?’ until Jodie and Ben came back from their evening out.

We’ve had a lovely few days and Wayne and Marg have been fantastic hosts. We would have loved to stay longer but unfortunately we’re on a time limit :o(

... daughters were going to join us for dinner.

I spent the afternoon cleaning, baking (I made my world class brownies), and playing the playstation with Abi. The men arrived back in the early afternoon and they stank of fish. Due to some restrictions on the size of fish etc they had to throw some fish back but they managed to arrive home with a full esky of fish. Lachlan had five fish, Craig one, Mike none and Alan brought home a Red Throat Emperor. That ...

Noosa and the zoo

... so set out for reception on my high horse with my list of grievances. When I got to reception, who was there but the fan-hogger couple from the room working reception desk. You can't exactly complain about the state of affairs in your room to the people you want to complain about! I grumbled back to the kitchen and had brekkie. One of the activities we did partake in Noosa was a trip to the Australia Zoo of Steve Irwin fame. We had heard that it ...

Christmas on the beach....woooohoooooooo. Not long to go now! ps sorry if the photos look grainy....the site doesn't seem to like my new 10 mega pixel camera!

... kite with us and gave it a little outing on the beach! To continue with wildlife encounters, we met a long nasty snake on the beach... brrrr. Apparently this kind of sea snake is very poisonous but that didn't seem to deter the crowd gathering around it. And two minutes after the snake had swam away there were already kids and dog walkers walking in the shallow surf. Nasty... Crikey!

... saw some tigers, wombats, dingos, camels, cassowaries - tones of stuff! Was really fun! Oh and we also saw 2 Cheetahs being walked, that was pretty cool as they weren't on exhibit. Real cool day! Oh at night, in our campsite, we watched Ratatouille, which was fun. I know, we're big kids at heart!!!

... and saw a koala chilling in the tree next to us. Also gave us time to mix with the other travellers and met some really nice people who we would end up bumping into for weeks to come. When it came to leaving Noosa the rain was getting serious and we may as well have swam to the bus stop - bin bags game in very handy. KT: Check out the picture of the birds taking cover from the rain. It just sums up the rain!

Arrival in Noosa

... we are in now, is Australia's Sunshine State, so you can say it's Australia's Florida. It's humid, tropical, laid-back, and beachy. Noosa consists of a street of boutiques and restaurants, a long, curving beach, and resorts nestled in rainforest. We have a palatial apartment overlooking the ocean. The only weird think is that for some reason there are turkeys running all over this place, I'm serious!

Noosa - Sunshine Coast
