    ... a little too far downward when looking for cheap motels. If I was rating this one I would give it just a two out of five - just because at least it was clean. Ascetically, it looks like a dump and when you get inside it really is a dump. A relic from the glory road trip days of the sixties I think. Last maintained then too! Just for one night though, and the lady in reception seemed nice enough. They are probably doing it tough ...

    At the tail end of our hike, we wennt down the Sims Trail, and back onto the Boardwalk. The 4.4 mile hike was very nice and tring for every one. Back at the visitor's center, Virginia Jerry and I became junior rangers! It was cool.

    Then we went back to the hotel, swam in the pool a bit, and had ice cream. All in all, This was a champion ...

    ... since the University of South Carolina is found here. What a beautiful capitol city! Our Hampton Inn is located In a wooded area that surrounds a large lake. Heck we knew this was the perfect place for us when even the Oscar Meyers Weiner truck was here!
    So Day #2 was just perfect! Lots of clouds but no rain yet! We are all pretty tired so, "goodnight" dear friends! Tomorrow it's off to North ...
