... cheese. It takes a while for them to make it (35-45 mins), but this is explained in the menu and by our waitress, who was brilliant and had a fantastic afro! When it arrived it was big as you would imagine and really very tasty. I tried my first ever root beer, and since there were free refills and a wait for the pizza, I found myself getting through 3 pints of the stuff.

... Or rather, corned beef as they bizarrely call it on this side of the pond. The 'Woody Alan' didn't disappoint. A moist mountain of meat nestling in wholesome slices of Rye.All it needed was the addition of bright yellow mustard and the odd pickle, to make it the archetypal American Deli experience. The Bloody Mary was just as salacious, accompanied by an assortment of garnishes, making it practically a meal in itself. I had two.

We were off to Chicago next to stay with Rob's uncle Jonty. He moved to Chicago 3 years ago and has a wonderful apartment in the centre of the city. Our flight to Chicago was delayed an hour and we had to pay an additional $25 each for our checked baggage! That's the last time we fly with American Airlines lol.
