    ... as we headed for Barnes and Noble, the emminent bookshop. We weren't overly impressed - Borders used to be better - so we set out again for the Chrysler Building, via Grand Central Station. This was a very Deco part of town; Grand Central was very swish, a great contrast to Penn Station where we arrived in New York.
    We passed on to the Chrysler Building, classic Art Deco, where you are only allowed to visit the foyer [ security reasons, since 9/11].

    ... From the looks of the outside I could see no trail but after talking to the ranger, turns out the hike is right behind the visitors center!

    It's a small place- the trail was only 2 miles but it was a beautiful place. I'm not into birds but if you are a bird watcher then this is the perfect place to be.
