Wes's Wagga Wagga Walkabout...Jo came to

... had a big storm which ripped the annex from the tent. After that it rained daily, except luckily for Saturday, the day of the racing party. The good news on this was that the Tent doesn’t leak!

The car went in to for a service on the Friday and we were advised it had to come back on Monday for further work. A new ball joint, wheel alignment and ...

Cheap wine and a three legged goat

... with his Viagra penis being a prominent feature of the day), a Mexican, an American Indian (although Amy – we’re not visiting the States on this trip!), a Colombian drug lord and a (Colombian?) drug mule. I won’t even mention Jeremy’s costume here! From Europe we had a sexy irish lady and leprechaun and Scottish kilts (kudos to both Matt & Kel and Shaun & Kat for coming as themed partners!), braveheart, the ...

Day 28 - Hay to Leeton

... case the winds were against us, and hit the road at about 6.45am. It started out nice and cool, but soon developed into a warm one.

The countryside was still very flat, but the irrigation from the Murrumbidgee has allowed crops such as rice to be grown. It was also nice to see the tree line in the paddocks which marked the river as we travelled along - made it a bit more interesting.

We had morning tea ...

Day 1 - what a long drive

... at Wallan for the typical road trip breakfast “Maccas”!! Pretty much the rest of the day we drove, and drove and drove and drove. We stopped off at Shepparton for the kids to stretch their legs and Adam had a snooze in the van. Kids played at one of the best playgrounds, a huge one called KidsTown park. The slides were enormous. Toby enjoyed going down the big slides on his jacket so he'd go faster, squealing with delight all the way ...

Day Five Plan

... Amazing place but a very long way to go to get there. I need to come back some time when Lake Mungo actually has some water in it! The photos I have show you a bit of how stark and flat everything is. Plus Wallabys. -- Second entry Still guesswork at this point but once I get to Mount Gambier and visit a couple of selected sites, I'll be head back to New ...

Rice, Bridges and a Tiger Moth

... but again, only surface green - not much water to be seen anywhere. There are various crops and several breeds of cattle including Murray Greys. On arrived back in Narandera, we visited the Tiger Moth display - there was a flying school here during the war, and the display is well done. We then went to the war memorials in the center of town - these include the fountain made by Doulton , which is most impressive. The NAB opposite is ...

moving on

... photographs reflected the park in summer with leaves on the trees. But most of the grassed sites are nowhere near level. I find picking out the right van park to be very difficult, and the RACV ratings are obviously based on a different set of criteria to what I look for in a park. Still - the loos and laundry are clean, and that's rather important. Its very windy today, so we made sure we were not under any trees. We have watched ...

Junee - Licquorice Capital of the world!

... the Greatest Motorcycle Stuntman in the World (apparently)), and of course my sister Simone, her husband Owen, and my two gorgeous nieces Saffron and Aurora. It was great to be home with family again, even with the threat of having to do gardening! And especially nice to be there for Saffron's ballet recital.

Fruit picking sucks!

HMMMN> Today was our first and last day of fruit picking - thought we would go for the world's shortest ever careers in fruit picking! All in all it pretty much sucked - **** conditions, **** pay so we decided one day was enough! Booked straight on to a greyhound and tomorrow we will be in the sunny city of Melbourne where we will resume our desperate search for employment (any ideas or donations greatfully recieved)!!! We will keep you posted!
