          We arrived this evening and checked into our really nice hotel. We then went back out to see if the visitor center was still open. It wasn't, so we went to check out a lighthouse, an old furnace at the Hiawatha National Forest, and a small town called Christmas. It was an enjoyable evening that ended with free pancakes at our hotel. ...

          ... a local brewpub before our tour.

          The pictured rocks are sandstone cliffs that are being eroded away by the wind and waves of Lake Superior. What makes them different is the huge mineral deposits that make them “bleed” different colors. Everything from rust to bright turquoise is present.           ... new stand with newspaper and three different kinds of gun magazines and lots of Jesus tshirts. There are also well-marked snowmobile trails, complete with their own red octagonal mini-stop signs. Little to no cell phone service up here, but should be crossing into Wisconsin soon. Couldn't ask for better traveling companions! Girls are doing great. We are watching/listening to season 1 of Muppet show. Off we go again! Hope to be in Baudette ...
