May 22, 2015 (Day 9) Border Crossing Eastport, Idaho to Kings Gate, British Columbia

    Total Miles: 1608

Oh boy, we're in Canada, eh!

Easy border crossing at 12:55 pm after only a ten minute wait in line.

Cosmo disappointed – they didn’t even ask if we had a dog (and he brought his rabies vaccination certificate and his food in original bags). They just wanted to know how much vodka, wine and guns we had on board. ...

I know Gary is a helping a friend take out some trees, and they will have beers after, and I tell him he is a beaver in training and that our chili's are all entered in a "tasting" that night so I had told my friend that I put cat food in hers, and its just been a great fun afternoon. Later all we "rubbers" get a tour of the vineyard, and ...

... any way. More than once a vehicle or motorbike pulled out and passed us with total disregard to the posted speed limit or the fact that there was a double solid yellow line down the middle of the road! When necessary and where possible Heidi pulls over to let these insane people pass us. The worst thing is that poor Heidi is unable to even drink her coffee because she has to keep two hands on the wheel.

We pass a sign that reads ...

    ... Pass.

The sky is clear, the weather warm and humid, but this is not a problem as the car we are in is air-conditioned. The scenery gets to be more and more breathtaking as we continue westward. I keep my eyes open for photo opportunities. Some make themselves available to me; others pass me by. I will have to get those on another trip. We are very near Lundbreck when Heidi sees three horses in a field. They are grazing near ...
