As soon as we got setup, we headed over to the Smoke Jumpers base in Missoula. We got a personal tour of the facility. They have a sewing room where they make their own kevlar jump suits, and a chute drying and inspection tower. There is a room where those that have been certified riggers, pack the chutes. We also saw the packs they load with food and a sleeping bag, and anything else they will need for 3 days of fire fighting. When they are ...
