... NOT my fault...Mr. John decided that HE needed a chocolate chip frappe! Of course I helped him out with it but I really didn't need one. Really. I promise. Truly. Closer to Missoula the trees became much larger. Some of the big hills we passed showed evidence of past forest fires. They looked so barren...it was sad to see. On the slopes that were not affected by the fires, the trees were quite large and made for a very nice scenic drive for us. It was amazing ...

... in and the lot was only 15% full, but that small group was frantic! I soon realized there were big horn sheep in the parking lot licking a fluid off one of the parking spaces (I tried to convince myself it was Gatorade not antifreeze). Folks went nuts taking pictures (not me!) – at one point there were six sheep about nine spaces from my car, just licking the pavement and looking at all the crazy tourists.

From there we traveled further south to Painted Rocks Lake State Park. What a gorgeous lake! After we returned to Missoula, the young'uns went "tubing" down the river for about an hour and a half. They had such fun.
