Our stay was nice, the bed was extremely soft(my wife made the reservation and i think we paid about 10 bucks more for the feather bed) we had a great view of the market, Puget sound, and the Olympic Mtns. Only 2 bad things about this hotel, the water pressure in the shower is extremely low. I know they are trying to save water by putting the water misers on the shower heads, but i've never had one this low. They also had a pump system in the toilet, which didn't really allow the toilet to flush completely (toilet paper coming back up) so we had to flush twice usually. Other than that a great stay. if you depend on a concierge, dont count on it, they usually weren't there.
I can best describe the hotel as a Best Western [and there is nothing wrong with that at all] that because it has two sofas and a fire in reception thinks it is two classes higher. It isn't.
Several items outlined in the confirmation did not exist. It is bland and lacking in comfort. We got a very good reduced rate, and it is still too expensive for what it is.
I would not recommend it to colleagues
Very Pleasant Hotel
This Red Lion is very comfortable and understated. Room was nicely decorated and morning papers are delivered to your door 7 days a week. A last minute request for a rollaway was provided while we were out to a ball game - and at no charge. WIFI worked well enough and the downstairs restaraunt and bar was cigar friendly. Not as luxurious as the 4 star Elliott Grand Hyatt but very reasonably priced through Priceline. The staff was helpful. Of the several downtown Seattle hotels I have stayed in this one can claim the most accessable location to Pike Street Market, Safeco, etc.
Excellent location, comfortable and clean.
We stayed one night in this downtown hotel while in Seattle last week.
The location is perfect and the hotel is nicely appointed. The staff seemed pleasant enough and friendly.
There is, of course, a parking fee for guests which I find really annoying but is standard practice for downtown Seattle hotels. Other than that, I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone.
Perfect location downtown
Beautiful rooms at a great rate. The impressive concierge remembered our names and interests each time we came down and asked us about our prior evening. The hotel is in walking distance to all the major sites - you don't need a car. You pay for parking if you have one, but that seemed common in that area. I'd stay here again.
Great location in downtown seattle
red lion on fifth ave is located in the heart of downtown with the convenience of being just 5 or so blocks from pikes public market and the waterfront, a couple blocks from the main bus lines as well as one end of the monorail between westlake center and the seattle center where the space needle and EMP is located. this particular room had bathrobes for use as well as a feather bed top. the staff was friendly. may want to check about parking. enjoyed my stay.
Great hotel, excellent location
We wanted a good safe location, and that's exactly what we received. Near to all the mayor Seattle attractions, moderately priced, nice size confortable room, very clean. I couldn't ask for more. I was a bit apprehensive because I was travelling with two picky people and I read something about the service being poor. But after staying there (seams like I stayed at a different hotel), I strongly recomend it.
I stayed at the hotel for a conference...
...that took place over the weekend. The front desk called me at 6:30am on Sunday morning and asked me to look around the room for a sweater left there from the previous occupant. When I told the front desk clerk that she had awoken me from sleeping, she apologized and then asked me to get up out of bed and look for the sweater. I was appalled. The location is nice, but the rooms are small and the bed only mildly comfortable. It's the worst hotel that I've stayed at when doing the conference loop. Try something with better customer service and more luxury.
Great location, poor service
Stayed here two nights in December. Great location in downtown Seattle...walking distance to everything. Room was nice and clean, but bed did not have feather bedding as described in package and I had to call for the terry robes that we were supposed to have. Room was so hot the makeup in my overnight bag was melting! Talked to front desk and they said they would cool the room, but we never noticed a difference.
We said a fan would be fine, but that never arrived. Also never recieved turndown service we requested both nights. Parking (complimentary at most places) was $19 a night! This is in a great location, but expect minimal customer service.
It is common that most of the downtown properties in Seattle do charge for parking, and that many of the hotels' parking rates are in the same price point (all around $20/nightly). While some properties vary the parking betweek self and valet parking, the cost is all roughly about the same for those that do have an onsite parking structure.
Thank you for letting me clarify this point, as I don't necessarily think it is entirely accurate.

Straight out to the Space Needle which is along the same road (5th Ave) and stopped for our first taste of Seattle coffee. Excellent start! Queued for the Space Needle Observation tickets and after 25 minutes, established the next available time was in 3 hours. We bought tickets for tomorrow and gave feedback to one of the numerous staff members hanging ...
"All my bags are packed I'm ready to go". Departure day has arrived. The Reykjavík excursions bus took us to the Blue Lagoon. What an operation. For a mere $64, the comfort package provides you with a towel, a robe, entry to the facility, the right to smear an algae-based mud mask on yourself plus one drink from the bar in the lagoon area. All that and the chance to soak in the hot effluent water from the nearby power plant. ...
It can be so much fun to travel furniture shopping. So, a lot of them could possibly be from the cost range, though many choices are out there. While using following advice, you will find great furniture at an affordable price.
Once you buy older furniture, make sure you look at the underside to figure out its stability. Many times, furniture will look like in great condition in fact it is not really. Dry rot and ...
... today, we went with John's cousins, Cynthia and Brad, to the Museum of Flight, right next to one of Boeing plants and their Testing Field Airport.
The greatest part of the visit, apart from the amazing display of "flying machines" from Leonardo da Vinci's model, through the Flying Car (they sold 13 units!) and all the way aircrafts for civil and military purposes, was that John's ...
