Our flight to Washington is at 6:30 pm and now it is 3:10 pm! We have a lot of waiting to do. On the flight last night I did not get much sleep, as the plane engine was drumming in my ears! It was quite a bumpy ride but we made all in one piece. As soon as we arrived we got on a bus (with a crazy driver) to the main check in point. And there on the first wall that you see coming in was Obama! Auckland airport doesn't have a ...

Breakfast, check out, walk to Greyhound bus terminal 1 block from hotel. 6 hour bus trip to Los Angeles and a taxi to the hotel in Hollywood in "rush" hour, a very inaccurate way to describe the traffic. After lunch, we went splorin in the Angeles National Forest. We drove up into the mountains on the 2 and various other roads. (SIDE NOTE: everyone here calls highways freeways and they are ...

... to us once in 2,800 miles of cycling along the Rockies. Anyway, we dropped the car off, headed to the hotel where you have to pay for wifi - not even the nastiest, cheapest motels do that - and dry cereal costs $11.50. By this point, we were ready to kill, and just went to the cinema to sit in the dark where no one could irritate us. We watched Gone Girl, a seriously messed up but entertaining film. We felt a bit better after the cinema, but then stood on the bus for an hour and a ...
