... have been inside. Alot of the clothes (especially in Versace) I wouldn't have if you paid me, gold **** everywhere, great big medusa heads on things like shiny sneakers. A bit too weird for my tastes, but again its all in the experience! I also got to that statue I mentioned earlier. Leonardo!! Nice stuff.

We wandered around the square a bit more, its actually similar in lots of ways to the San Marco Square in Venice. And of course I forgot to mention all ...

... an afternoon stop. The good news for the long term is that the local Italian flying community have developed there own brush system which completely improves the original factory system, so we are also retrofitting that. So losing a day, but will pay back in the future.

... the nice bits. The running however is as good as anywhere else I have ran in Italy. There is a park with dirt tracks just 200m or so from our apartment which we have used for all our running so far. Today we had our best training experience with DDS so far. We went to Stresa in the shores of Lago Maggiore with other athletes who were doing a race. ... before going to La Scala. What an experience, the building is quite plain on the outside, but once inside it is just what you would imagine, red velvet and gold everywhere and loads of ushers and usherettes to help. We saw an English tenor, Ian Bostridge, accompanied by a Pianist. He sang Schubert's poems, Liszt and Schumann, all in German and some quite pained. It wasn't to my taste but I enjoyed the experience, Laurie enjoyed it more than me, must be his German ...

... have been hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of steps up, most of which were twice the height of a normal step. Also we did it CARRYING OUR PACKS on the warmest day that we have had thus far. Bloody funny now but not at the time. 3 hours of torture, my pack started with about 13 kgs and ended with about 11 kgs and let me tell you one decides what one needs to carry and what is excess baggage half way up!!
