    Travel Day

    We traveled north on US Rt. 395 out of Carson City and into California. After leaving the Reno area it was a short drive to the California border and the inspection station that everyone must stop at; we were asked if we had firewood or a watercraft, but were not asked about citrus fruit, so there was no delay.     Leaving Bishop and Ron Chapman, we left the car unhooked for the grade out of Bishop. Up the hill near Tom's Place, I hooked the car up and we finished the drive to Stateline and Lake Topaz. They have a nice RV park there, with full hookups, and we stayed 2 nights.
