... The guys enjoyed big tasty sandwiches and I had a chicken teriyaki dish. It was nice chatting to Paresh and Unjalee about their work and studies.

When we get back Pravina and Ajai have returned from their trip up to Santa Cruz to see Ajai's new home. After a little catch up and some World Cup match we get into the car and head out to the beach. The drive there is beautiful. The mountain ranges, the colours, all so pretty. We head ...

There are vista points right the way down the coast, and there are many of them let me tell you. ... to open their shops until 12pm so our last day in California is spent trying to find somewhere open. Luckily for us, we found a shop that was opened and the kind owner pointed us in the direction of the the visitor centre and Jim was able to complete his set.

The next major stop on our trip down the coast was Malibu. On the drive down there are more spectacular views and its been a great sight every day. We finally arrive ...

... the only damage was lost glasses and some bruised (literally) egos.

We evidently didn’t time our run through the surf correctly. That right there is what is called an understatement. As we came in we didn’t get up on the wave we were trying to ride and the wave behind us came up too quickly and picked up the rear of the boat and jammed the front of the boat straight down into the sand! Rick remembers the crunching sound that ...
