The top is rather flat, with many small research buildings, including several small observatory domes. The land belongs to the University of Arizona. We then headed to Sabino Canyon, a natural desert oasis located in Tucson's Coronado National Forest. We boarded the Sabino Canyon tram for a narrated 45 minute ride through the canyon. Some beautiful scenery.
Our day wasn't over yet. We had reservations at the Gaslight Theater for dinner and a live Musical Melodrama Show. Tonights show was The Ballad of Two Gun McGraw, a Wacky Western Adventure. Very enjoyable evening.
... around 6:30pm and arriving in Atlanta 8am the next day. I was worried about sleeping in coach but came prepared with a blanket and my travel pillow. Pleasant surprise when I got on the train to find reclining seats with heaps of leg room and foot/leg rests. Initially I had to sit next to a chap who had obviously ridden a lot of horses because he sat with his legs so far apart they were in my foot well. Otherwise we spend the day on the Farmers market, the ‘Mexican’ Flea market and checking in our new RV’s now the big question: do we need a new one????
