Busy day at sea. Long 12 hour day but filled with activities, games and ice cream and movie. The kids usually are pretty tired by this time of the cruise and can be ornery and cranky. We try and keep them busy with arts and crafts and games. At least we have tonight to look ...

... slightly un-PC, these days, to admit it but we were all thrilled/amazed by the performance of the five (including a calf) Orcas - even from the dry seats at the back where Ben had insisted on sitting with Daddy (Jill, sensibly, was a few rows from the front with the birthday boy and Alec). ... waves roll in and the accompanying surfers. I've seen pelicans gliding overhead, then skimming the surface of the water scooping up fish. I've seen dolphins working their way down the coast, and I've people watched. But mostly I've parked myself on my towel, read my book (well, three actually) and soaked up the sun. Today marks the last full day of our vacation, and what better way to spend it than at the beach. How blessed can a person ...

After dinner we had a short walk through the shops because we still had time with the baby sitters and headed home. We finally had a skype chat with mum and dad and nan and were planning watching the sapphires but we were all so tired. Bed time tonight has been the earliest of the whole trip but we sooo need the extra zzz...
