... beautiful site. The mountains, the bridges and the city are very picturesque. After getting my bags I took the shuttle to my hotel and checked into my room. Princess takes care of expenses for everything....including providing meal tickets for the hotel restaurants.....so spoiled. After relaxing for about 30 minutes Jackie picked me up for the day adventure! It's always fun to be chauffeured around town by a local! My hope for the day ...

We took The Standrings' advice today and, after a leisurely breakfast, set out for the California coast and Carlsbad beach. it was a lovely, warm sunny day when we left Vail Lake, but after an hour or so's drive (literally the moment we passed the Carlsbad city limit) the sky clouded over.
This wasn't necessarily a bad thing, though, as I'm sure we would all have cooked if it had stayed sunny. As it was it was pleasantly warm the whole time we were there, and the boys, as usual, ...
... on and rolled into San Diego - just in time for the traffic from the Rock 'N Roll Marathon (our initial thought was that the President might be in town!). After an hour of navigating we parked and began a walking tour of downtown.
First stop lunch and this time it's Holly's turn - mediterranean. We sat outside and listened to a band play although the weather was cooler than expected; high 60s. But how refreshing after 90s/100s.
