    ... The Gateway Arch is the vision of renowned architect Eero Saarinen. The Gateway Arch commemorates Thomas Jefferson's vision and St. Louis' role in the westward expansion of the United States.     ... br> Another big attraction for everyone was watching the hippos playfully trying to capture and chomp the bananas in their pool. Who would have thought hippos loved bananas? I'm sorry that the crowds watching the hippos were so big we didn't get a great shot, but squint and imagine the hippo in the pic trying to catch the banana.
