It was hot so I decided on an early stop.
St Joseph is just a bit further North from Kansas. Now to take in Kansas state I had to cross the river, Part of Kansas city is in Missouri it seems.
I got to St Joseph and found a motel, then decided to explore. Turns out there is a lot of history here.

They actually set up the organ console and the pipes in house to voice and test it before it’s delivered so there has to be a big area for that to happen. Up the street was a wonderful museum - Patee House Museum National Landmark. It was once a pioneer hotel and headquarters for the Pony Express ...

I liked the engraving on the wine barrel at Beachaven. Plus je bois, mieux je chante. (The more I drink, the better I sing.) Since I can't sing at all, a little wine can only help. The drive through St. Louis was picturesque thanks to all the architecture of all the old buildings. Don't bother with the bypass, just drive right through the center of town.
