    ... may be the name of the place. After our experience further north where they were keeping such a tight reign on who sees the elephant seals, surely we couldn't just pull off the road and watch them. Guess what. We could. And everyone stayed behind the lines, nobody bothered them, and we didn't need the least bit of supervision. And the seals treated us like we weren't even there.

    ... and they took over a whole cove of the beach. Most of them were sleeping along side each other, others in the water playing. It was great to watch. From there we made our way to Hearst Castle. We knew very little about the family that built it but the photos looked amazing. We started in the visitor centre and ate lunch there then wandered the free exhibits. We had pre booked a tour at 4pm as it was the only slot available but we were pretty early. ...

    ... to autozone and changed the oil in the parking lot! Then went to the farmers market and had fresh tri tip sandwiches. Now why don’t they have them in NC? They were awesome. Fresh corn too. And got a peck of strawberries. Then we drove out to oceano dunes and when we drove on the beach we almost got stuck! When we parked I pulled about 50 or 75 feet farther than I thought necessary and it was a good thing as the water came up to about 15’ of the truck at high tide. ...

    ... made for fantastic riding weather. I had set a goal for myself of riding 1,000 miles this year. In the month of January alone, I rode over 450 miles. It is a good start for the year. I am sure I won't be riding as much in the colder weather in Washington, but I will push hard to reach my goal.

They were always willing to jump in with both feet and establish relationships with total strangers.
