Called the hotel at 3.30 but alas the room was still not ready, however at 4pm, it was suddenly available...funny that! Room was nice, with a great view out to the beach. ... much for me in one day, the flight and arriving in a new house for two months in one day. I felt really homesick, sick to my stomach but the beautiful city made that passed a bit.

On Saturday, I went shopping on State street and Paseo Nuevo, which are big shopping areas here in Santa Barbara. I also went at the beach and walked on the harbour. I started my walk from my host's house at ...

... was super friendly, everything was 'no problem!' And a few recommendations for good bars/restaurant were given. Another free upgrade in the bag and we were escorted to our room. And what an amazing room it was! The tallest bed I've ever seen - thankfully it comes with a stool! Up to the roof top pool terrace for a recce, the views from here were fantastic! Went for a stroll down ...
