      Not a great night on the floor. I got up feeling numb down one side and stumbled around in the dark room trying not to wake the others. I got dressed and went to see someone on reception. They explained they had made a mistake and changed our booking as our agents never book the suite!! I tried to remain clam, but was not best pleased.       ... Barbara beach for a quick stroll. It was like Beverly Hills on the beach. Drove up to the mission building on the hill which was established by the Spanish monks in 1786.

      Drove on to Solvang with its Danish buildings including two windmills. Finally called it quits at Los Alomos which in Spanish means "The Cottonwoods". The kind manager had to supply us with an advance on our breakfast as there was nothing open in town as we checked in about 10pm.

      I arrived at LA Union Station yesterday morning around 11:30,about six hours late. Fortunately, the trip has me in a pretty relaxed mode, so 5:30 AM vs 11:30 AM - what's the difference?
