Woken early by someone trying to get into my room. I also begrudge paying $2.99 for wi-fi.

After the windy stay Gaviota State park today was making my way through Santa Barbara and other towns. It was nice not to have a long ride today only 49 miles. Walk on the beach a warm shower and a cold beer and the day is done. Got chance to catch up on my email at Starbucks, a favorite spot to get some caffiene & check my email. What a surprise to see a blurb about me & my ride in the Adventure Cycling e-newsleter that my wife Nina put in. It made my day but also missing home. ...

It was at these moments that we felt the most grateful ...
