We left the Venice Beach House after the usual nice breakfast with cereals, fruit, yoghurt. This morning they also gave us a french toast with bananas, a sort of pain perdu with bananas and caramel ...very heavy! We packed and left LA driving the Pacific Coast Hwy. nice view on the beaches, a lot of surfers. We drove through Malibu, disappointed by …

Not a great night on the floor. I got up feeling numb down one side and stumbled around in the dark room trying not to wake the others. I got dressed and went to see someone on reception. We continued on and stopped again at a larger place called San Luis ...

... had anything to eat all day. Would not rush back but the location was good and the staff friendly.

We then walked into the centre of Santa Barbara. This must be one of the prettiest towns we have ever been too. Every corner you turn, there is another beautiful building, garden, light, restaurant, shop, etc., etc. It is immaculate everywhere. Everything is so well looked after, you can just see the pride and care everywhere you go. It is very Spanish ...

... and headed to the harbour, similar to Stonehaven..... But not! Had a spot of lunch and enjoyed a cold beer at the recommended Brophy Bros. Clam Bar. Most enjoyable. Picked up the waterfront shuttle to head back up town for 50c, cheap as chips and worth it seeing as it's el Scorcio! Nipped in to the Santa Barbara County Court house and climbed the stairs to the watchtower. Again, ...
