... even hotter when we left.

The library is on a hill with a commanding 270 degree view of the area. Once inside we listened to an excellent audio tour as we made our way through the library, a least we did until both of our batteries died. Many of his great speeches were played. Even the ...

Day 79 - The road trip continues...

David hit the pool for a swim first thing whilst the rest of us dozed. Once up we headed out to take a look around Santa Barbara town, but first things first - breakfast! We found a delightful little cafe, Jeanine's Bakery, with outdoor tables in the sunshine. We shared a hearty bowl of oatmeal and a California omelet filled with avocado and tomatoes. David enjoyed a tasty plate of huevos rancheros - one of his Houston weekend favourites! We ...

... view from the upper level restaurant was wonderful, overlooking the Santa Barbara Marina and the Harbor.

After lunch, we took a walk along the boardwalk and I could not resist getting a photo of the young lady that was renting paddle boards. She wore a pretty skimpy bikini and made a point of bending over to pick up boards whenever someone walked by.

A great lunch with my sweetheart and another wonderful memory of our travels.

... br> It was a wonderful day with a good dose of reminiscing, catching up with news of family, and the best dose of fun. Berkeley re-established himself as one of Matt’s heroes with his Hollywood screen play writing and witty movie critiques. Izze enjoyed the life of a surf community and the short time with Sophie and Milo; and Paula and I soaked it all in with great joy and appreciation for reconnecting with a dear, old friend.

... was working: it is a small but pretty cool sea center. Visitors get to touch small sharks (the current exhibit) and other marine specimens. Then, Amy drove around the city so I can see the City College and the University of California, Santa Barbara. Eh, why am I studying in Quebec, seriously? The view of both schools is breath-taking: students have a great view on the beach and the ocean while studying, which makes it a ...
