    ... about the various wineries in the area, which we will visit tomorrow. ( we will not have enough time to do them all as there are about 40! ) Al has only lived in this area for four months and his aim is to visit each one eventually. He does one or two every Sunday. We are having a lazy evening catching up on wifi, which is very fast...a real treat. I have been trying to update my photos to the cloud and at one stage was going to take 2 days, here at Al's 9 ...

    ... a very friendly fellow, he plays the concertina in a local band, he recommended a CD of traditional music. We bought the CD and with a Irish good-by we returned to the hotel.     ... and walked around all the different viewpoints. There were beautiful views of San Diego Bay, Coronado Island and the Downtown area. The historic lighthouse is such a cute little building and you could go inside where they had rooms set up like a little dollhouse of how it would have been back in the day. It was completed in 1855, closed in 1891 and replaced with the new Point Loma lighthouse, set on the hills below.

    ... 4 blocks from the campground.....i think he meant 4 miles..(since the Yosemite hikes and this episode I am starting to not trust him when it comes to his estimation of distance), we got the trolley into San Diego and had a good stroll around, the harbour area is really lovely and some of the boats there were HUGE!....

    Grabbed a beer and cocktail at the waterside and then headed home ready for the Zoo tomorrow! ;-)
