... the bodyguards etc gave this away eventually. Apparently the El Centro landscape is good preparation for Afghanistan terrain.

Harry and his squadron were good customers drinking many pitchers of beer and leaving a generous tip. We can now officially say we have eaten in the same place as royalty.

Some fond memories ...

... dolphin and bird show, where it also involved acrobats and divers jumping from great heights, they would have been freezing though in the water, it was quite a cold day and as you can see from the photos we indeed needed our emergency ponchos because when it rained, IT RAINED, lol we thought as we were already wet we would brave the rapids and the log ride, it was so much fun! We then found a massive human dryer and used this to help dry off and warm up. ...

... at this hostel when it was brand new, which may skew my perception of it, but seemed to have everything correct. The rooms were spacious and beds were comfortable, the views out the window were amazing. Location right near the main street with all the shops and bars, and basically overlooking Lake Wakatipu. Hostel boasted a nice balcony and even a sauna. Hostel had connections with the biggest and best bar in town, World Bar, and had nightly activities there. Went on one of ...
