... stand on the deck of the ship and look at Salaverry all you see are gray colored sand dunes with a green strip high above the town where they are growing crops. The town is a fishing port but also a shipping and receiving bulk port so it is not very pretty to look at. From the other side of the ship we could see the coastline, many kilometers of sand beaches. There are also hundreds of pelicans all over the place. We decided to walk into Salaverry which was 20 minutes away. There is ...

Big shout out to our Air b'n'b host here actually, very attentive to just the right degree of helpful and friendly, yet not in-your-face all the time. If only i could remember her name... We also saw all the usual zoo animals - giraffes, ...

... phone went into roaming mode. It was beautiful, and apart from some slight smog on the horizon, it was a perfectly clear day. The 360 degree view (yes, I realise all views are technically 360 degrees, but this one had pretty stuff to look at for all 360 of them) gives you a look at Mexico, Coronado Island (where we spent our Saturday), The Pacific Ocean and San Diego. Point Cabrillo is a military base and cemetery; Dave's father is actually buried there. There is ...

... that the Zoo was really good and they have over 3,000 animals of all kinds of species there so I was really looking forward to it, however the enclosures were still small, especially for the big cats. Although most of the animals are born and bred here, and probably well looked after, I was disappointed that it wasn't as free as I would of hoped it would of been. There ...
