Today, I ended my holiday break in a very chilly San Antonio. Sorry for the obnoxious title but basketball season is in full throttle and the spurs are my team.(!!!!) Not really, but everyone loves to say that here and rep the spurs with flags and stickers on their cars. Gotta admire that pride, huh? Anyways back to the important stuff, I am feeling very excited but anxious about the next five months. I can't believe the first leg of my journey is already here and about to ...

      Visiting Friends

Day 6Off to San Antonio to visit Evan and Morgan. But first a drive down the coast see the mud flats, birds and sand dunes that are along the drive. Great views of the coast along the bluewater highway. Then headed inland through marshes and then into oil fields and processing plants again. We rolled out of that ...

... astronauts have sat before us. The current Mission Control is now located on the floor below where the old one was located, and you can actually see the centre through a live feed into the old viewing room where we sat. It is pretty darn awesome (and they even still have the red phone/hotline to th president in there too).

The last stop on the tram tour was to Saturn 5 - a real, live rocket. Saturn 5 was originally built to be the next Apollo mission, number ...

      ... little after 6:00 am.

There was the usual disorganization prior to boarding. Slowing things a bit was the Sunset Limited still in the station. It runs from Los Angeles and has a 2-3 hour delay @SA. But, they didn't pull away on time; as our train was on the other side of it, we couldn't board until it moved. Finally, they departed and we were able to get aboard. The train was on about ...
