What a miserable place!
It's hot as hell, the water in the pool looks like someone poured milk into it, and there is nothing to do in the area.
This is our own fault. We completely spaced about the holiday weekend and this was the ONLY place we could find available anywhere near where we want to go next.

... there, as the weather was warm and the water temperature was perfect also to partake in all of Toms constant excursions and activities! We would boat or jet ski everywhere we needed to go. ... enjoyed a delicious breakfast platter of buttermilk pancakes, eggs, turkey bacon and a cup of coffee. It was delicious as always. Our tour guide had phoned ahead and the restaurant was able to seat us all quickly. The three of us sat at a table with a retired couple Laura and Allison from Petitcodiac. After a long day of driving, we have arrived in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina at the Hampton Inn. We are staying here overnight to rest up and stretch our legs before our final leg of the trip tomorrow morning at 7:00. We stayed at this same hotel location last year. It is super clean, modern and has a great staff. There is a nice complimentary hot/cold breakfast buffet for us in the morning beginning at 6:00. ...
