... rocks. There are reds, browns, oranges, purples, all highlighted by the almost flourescent green of moss covering the rocks. It is beautiful and quite frankly awe-inspiring, and the thought strikes me that if this was in the UK, it would be a very famous tourist attraction bringing hundreds of visitors per day, but in Iceland, land of incredible spectacles, it is merely an optional side trip on a hike.

So this is the big day, the start of the three to five day Laugavegur. It usually takes four days, but I am hoping to complete the trek in three days, and then continue with the walk from Thorsmork to Skogar, weather permitting.
