      ... residences for the elite seeking privacy. Apparently Audrey Hepburn and the Bush family have had seasonal homes there.

      We truly don't care so much about that as we do about the fact that there are miles of paved bike trails and access to scenic beachfront spots!

      We have been invited to get a "golf cart tour" of Palm Island by someone who lives there so we are looking forward to that ...

      ... Punta Gorda. Ended up at Fisherman's Village, browsing and shopping. Visited the Military and Aviation History Museum where Bob was able to see a computerized image of his ship the USS Newman K. Perry. 4:00 PM mass at Sacred Heart church.       ... Myers, whose downtown area has had a relatively recent face lift. It's very attractive with lots of nice restaurants and shops.

      The anchorage was so nice. Being very close to the Fort Myers marina, we could easily dinghy over to the marina, leave our dinghy and walk to town or ride the bus almost anywhere we needed to go.
