    ... or his Spanish Paella? both he is now accomplished in making. Last evening he took a pot full of his Paella over to the family - Isabella commented, "think Poppa had better show Dad how to make this" - I was not quick enough - I should have replied, he should show YOU how to make it.

    Other local friends have been so hospitable while we had our guests staying - Connie & Raymond had the 4 of us and Wilda ...

    ... luncheon at one of them (Riverwood) for lunch with Chuck and Jan . A lovely traditional style clubhouse with reasonably priced food. Followed by, back to their home to watch the movie "Saving Captain Phillips''........... 5 years ago, Somalian pirates captured a huge container carrier in the Persian gulf, and eventually took the Captain as hostage - a great movie, based totally on this real event .

    ... There are no gas stations in the village of Boca Grande, so many local residents use a golf cart as their main mode of transportation. On any given day in Boca Grande, you will see golf carts, as well as some automobiles, making their way throughout downtown.

    The debarkation point is only about 6 miles from our cottage and the ferry ride is a mere 6 minutes. Can't wait to see more!

    ... something he ate, we skipped breakfast at the hotel. Packed up and checked out around 10:30 AM. Drove to the Punta Gorda History Park and Farmer's Market on Streve Street. Did some limited exploring . Took a few photos. Only saw one of the four or five restored homes preserved on the site, the Cigar Makers Cottage. On the road for home by 11:15 arriving by 2:30 despite stopping for gas, a snack and a construction delay on RT 75 near Land O ...
