... were a few remnants of Australia's Americas Cup win in 1983, which was pleasing, including an Australian milk bar, replete with hot pies and all.
Otherwise Newport was quaint in the way of all New England towns and was similar to villages in the UK of the same vintage (Newport is celebrating its 375th birthday this year!).
So the breakdown of New England;
1. Best state - Maine
2. Best city - Boston
3. Ideal holiday destination - Cape Cod
