... City, and The Great Salt Lake. (The mine was Bingham Canyon Open Pit Copper Mine. It has been in operation since 1906 and was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1966). The desolate vista below almost magically transformed into lush green mountains and valleys as we neared Portland. We landed to a refreshing 69 degrees!
