... a beautiful view of rolling hills and farmland. We visited the Woolen Mill and I purchased some early birthday gifts! We also visited the Farmer's Market and tried to get a tour of the famous "underground city" built by Chinese laborers in the 1880's. The tours had closed for the day, so we'll try our luck the next time we visit. We are now in Boise, staying at the Mountain View RV Park and we expect to visit here for about a week.

... were able to walk (I won't say "hike") a bit on the trail...I am reading "Wild" by Cheryl Strayed right now and I think she must have a stop at Timberline on her trek northward on the trail. Right now she is still in California, but I looked ahead in the book and I think she makes it to the Bridge of the Gods in Cascade Locks where we were yesterday. Her book about her experience on this trail that goes from Mexico to Canada is very ...

      Passing Visit

A travel blog entry by stourwalk on Aug 15, 2013

This was a passing visit onto our evening stop-over, but we managed to drive up the rest of the 99 and through the old part of town (and saw the cable-cars).

We then headed east onto the 84 and then the 30 so we could stop off at a couple of places that we missed out due to time constraints when we were here ...
