We also visited the Farmer's Market and tried to get a tour of the famous "underground city" built by Chinese laborers in the 1880's. ... were able to walk (I won't say "hike") a bit on the trail...I am reading "Wild" by Cheryl Strayed right now and I think she must have a stop at Timberline on her trek northward on the trail. Right now she is still in California, but I looked ahead in the book and I think she makes it to the Bridge of the Gods in Cascade Locks where we were yesterday. Her book about her experience on this trail that goes from Mexico to Canada is very ...
