    ... arrived in Rancho Mirage (outside of Palm Springs) where my sister and brother in law , in a beautiful home situated alongside a golf course. The backyard oasis beckoned us for a swim and drink!! Following day enjoyed a round of golf in a postcard picture landscape with the mountains as the backdrop.

    ... the Mission Hills Country Club and their wonderful fruit trees (lemons the size of soft balls, and tangerines and grapefruit). (Which we are still enjoying by the way). Heather and Doug were great tour guides, pointing out Bob Hope's home, Liberace, Marilyn Monroe's bungle and lots of other properties. Heather even got a glimpse of Robert Redford - unfortunately I was looking in the other direction. Darn!!

    Again boys up early for golf, although Manny was a scratching this morning. Golf scores weren't flash, but after a slow start the second nine was good fun.
