... the rock formation and when the mist goes over it, it gives it a golden glow. The bridge came after the naming of the rocks. We also went past Alcatraz and that was quite spooky. The rest of the day I wandered around the fishermen's wharf looking at shops. It's such a great place; Mum really needs to come here. I had crab chowder for the first time in a sour dough bread bowl. Very yummy but too much pepper unfortunately. I really love how peaceful it is ...

We paused the game to head to the roof.

Lots of people up there.

First fireworks sighted in the distance were about dime-sized in Oakland. (At this point T razzed CJ about how this was supposed to be rather a very good view)

Then on our left in the space between this building and another, we DID see some pretty nice fireworks (Fort Mason area I think, at least over the bay).

... we headed back to our hotel but stopped at an Irish Pub where we were told they have jazz too, but they only have a pianist. We had a drink though, and saw a bit of the World Cup soccer game with Russia playing Korea. Nil-all when we left the pub. I don't enjoy going into pubs, because the drinks are too expensive and then when you add tax and tips, it's not reasonable, in my opinion. John really likes going in there though. Back to our ...
