20.15 We are heading back to our local honkytonk , the Nashville Palace where there are two bands playing. The music quality levels have shot up dramatically this last few days so our expectations are higher. Opry tomorrow and that bar is through the roof. In the Palace this afternoon an older lady came to talk to us. She wanted to know if it was true that beer in England was ...

Not that I have a rest area fetish, but the Arkansas Welcome Center was beautiful with Craftsman-style lighting and well-designed landscape. Like Oklahoma, it had a stone sign for the state name. Even the women in the reception area wore suits.

It seems like all the good scenery and good times lay behind us as we wind our way closer to home. No more crimson canyons, crimson-er sunsets... just four sore butts and an overflowing stash of dirty laundry. Where is Andy when you need to find a good roadside attraction to explore and reinvigorate any road warrior genes we have left?

But then, we encounter another dimension ...
