... depressing! Perfect example happened today. We got about 5 inches of snow overnight and then continued in the morning. It was a good kind of heavy snow, the awesome packing type, and looked so beautiful when I left my apartment at 8am. Walking in it was admittingly difficult, albeit lack of removal, but it was still doable. When returning home 6.5 hours later, everything was already melting and slushy, leaving a huge mess and giant puddles of freezing water. ...

When I really began planning my trip to Africa, I immediately began consulting all of the major online travel resources I could think of: Lonely Planet, Trip Advisor, BootsnAll, Matador, Afar and the all powerful Wikitravel. ... blog is going to reveal how boring we really are… "We went running today. Then we went to a church and a ruin and ate kebabs!" I’ll do what I can to spice things up- drink too much and embarrass myself, make friends with Turkish drag queens, trip and fall and break some priceless Byzantine relic… without risking incarceration or serious injury, of course.

Stay tuned for more updates from Max and Nick’s Turkish Adventure.

... and we are already looking forward to next New Years! Leaving there we headed to Plymouth to Phil’s cousin Dick and wife Mary’s place. On the way we called their son Mike and he asked that we stop by and see his new house as we would be about 2 blocks from it on the freeway. We did and it is absolutely beautiful—the layout inside and the way they have decorated and the colors—I could have bought that immediately—Patty was not home but we will meet ...
