Day 7: Pigeon Forge is a kids' Vegas

A travel blog entry by elainesj on Jul 19, 2014

Day 7: Leaving. Wonderworks in Pigeon Forge. $23.99 adult, $14.99 kid = $75 (after $2 off coupon). Overnight stay in Sleep Inn Sevierville.

Pigeon Forge is about a 20-30 mins from the entrance of the Smokies. But it took us over an hour to drive from the park to Pigeon Forge because it is bumper to bumper traffic. Worked out to do it on the way out. Stayed a night in Sevierville (2km from Wonderworks). ...

Whizzing past some rather out of breath and lardy Americans, we made light work of the trek after ...

So who is the famous person from Pigeon Forge??????
You are right, it is Dolly Parton. This is where she has her amusement park, "Dollywood". The town of Pigeon Forge and nearby town of Gatlinburg are INSANE! It is totally honky tonk. We counted 8 mini golfs, and more car racing arcades, at least 15 pancake restaurants, 5 Ripley's Believe it or Not places, and every kind of kid activity you can think of, but on steroids. All ...
