Met some people here at Cove Creek RV Resort who told us we needed to take a ride up to the Preserve Resort. It's some really beautiful cabins up on top of the mountain. Turning into the road going up it says must have snow tires or chains to access it during snowy weather.
It was very steep climb goin up but the view and the cabins are beautiful.
Took a hike up to Laurel Falls. The road going up the mountain was very windy running along side a river. The scenery continues to just take our breath. The hike was 2.6 miles round trip. A nice paved trail going 1.3 miles up the mountain to the falls. But it was worth the walk to see the 80 foot waterfall. Unfortunately still no bear sightings but we will keep ...
... recommend this campground if coming to see Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg.
The camp ground is in wears valley with mountains pretty much surrounding the valley. It's secluded enough to relax but only 10 minutes from Pigeon Forge and about 20 minutes to Gatlinburg. Less than 30 minutes to Cades Cove.
We will stay here again if we come up this way.
