... Lilly and took her to her Daisy Scout meeting. Carol was a Girl Scout leader for 5 years, so Lilly thought she would enjoy being with her at her meeting. 15 1st graders had two craft projects about Earth Day, a snack, a story read to them and then they planted a tree - all in 1 1/2 hrs! Wow that's a lot of energy! Josh and Wanda had a date night, so we got pizza and watched a movie ...

After talking to a few travelers, we decided to change our itinerary and head south to Monterey. Jim is a John Steinbeck fan, and his stories are nearly all flavored with characters who lived and worked in Monterey County where Steinbeck grew up and lived most of his life. ... they could fall over at any minute. We went to Hollywood Hills and took a few photos with the Hollywood sign. Then, we went through the neighborhood in the mountain. The twists and turns of the mountain streets were so small. I was so glad that Evie was driving because I probably would have crashed.

Our next stop was the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The walk itself has over 2,500 stars and takes 15 blocks to walk the entire strip. We spotted a ...

... afternoon. Luckily, we found a good sale & even an extra percentage off coupon. Hopefully, a good lesson in taking care of our things!

No one really wanted to say good-bye to the beach but it was time to continue our journey north. So far we have logged about 3600 miles on Vincent. We're thinking we're going to blow by our 6000 miles estimate long before we hit IL again.
