... forests, lush mountains, grazing lands, and hidden Pfeiffer Beach. We also saw Point Sur Lighthouse atop a massive volcanic rock just offshore and Bixby Bridge which is 260 feet in the air and the sight of numerous car commercials. We both agreed that this is one of the most beautiful areas in California that we have seen thus far. Our next stop is Yosemite National Park. It snowed in the mountains so we'll see how much of the park we'll be able to ...

... over by palm trees. Had a very clean and colourful feeling; shops and restaurants leading up to yet another golden sand beach. By the time we arrived it was lunchtime and we stopped at a restaurant (Eladio's) where I had the most delicious tuna salad - a recipe I will recreate one day! The ...

Left Adobe Inn at 9am after a pretty bad continental breakfast and TomTom took us straight to all the bad hills as usual. Took around an hour with lots of walking to find route one, not a good start. Almost immediately to the 17 mile drive road to Carmel, it's a $10 dollar toll road but the guy didn't charge us! It's really beautiful with wonderful houses, the waves were pretty huge too. Great empty beach with lots of walkers, didn't see Clint ...

    ... clear.

We stopped off at a place called Half Moon Bay for a coffee and small bite to eat. Half Moon Bay is a very pretty little town well known for its fun and funky shops, and Moonside Bakery where we stopped for the coffee.

Back on our way, and with the roof down now that the weather was clearer and warmer, we then drove the highway hugging the coastline, all the way to Santa Cruz. We drove to the waterfront of Santa Cruz but it was so jammed ...
