We also saw Point Sur Lighthouse atop a massive volcanic rock just offshore and Bixby Bridge which is 260 feet in the air and the sight of numerous car commercials.       ... seemed to close early on Sunday. We decided to get some takeout sushi from a place closer to our hotel. We haven’t been very lucky this trip getting the first floor (we want it because we have so much luggage).       ... point. We followed the trail that was a steep walk up through the mountain and followed the fast moving river that ran along side. Simply beautiful. We got to the bottom of a stretch of path that split off in different directions. The top of the Nevada Falls was a further 3.4 miles and steep. Vernal falls however, was only 0.8 miles hike. We had already walked a good mile just to get here. Time was important as we still had to drive to Monterey later ...
