I checked out of my hotel in Dallas and headed home. I drove until the evening and then found a hotel in Memphis, TN.

... for a 10-year lease and then moved to a larger location. The people who have had various businesses there since never actually changed the rooms, so it is still the original flooring (including crosses where the band members used to stand), roofing tiles, layout etc. It was pretty cool to imagine Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis etc recording and hanging out here.

The room was what you'd expect from a Motel 6 although there were some maintenance issues. For instance, there was no latch on the bathroom door and it wouldn't stay closed completely. My main complanint is that the Internet service, which costs about $3 extra, was terrible. It was too slow to watch video.
