    ... the menu that didn't have shrimp, everything else did. I guess the name was a giveaway.I got the special; which I didn't listen to the waitress so I don't actually remember what it was.     ... you have to take three steep escalators. Half the park is on the top of a hill and the remaining at the base. Immediately to our right is the mummy ride and directly in front the Jurassic park water flume. We went straight to the mummy and didn't have to berry long before clambering into the trolley roller coaster. Harried fathers made sure their children were drinking enough water, older brothers and sisters looking around and wondering where they'd go next, young couples walking hand in hand towards adventurous rides.     The US was not originally on our itinerary but, because we managed to get a cheap flight from Japan and needed LAX to connect to South America, a sojourn was a no-brainer.

    After a gruelling ten-hour flight and two bus journeys, we arrived in Santa Monica. It was the perfect place to unwind, recover from jet lag and get ready for our road trip along the Pacific Coast Highway.
