... us to empty the refrigerator into our cooler. A team of two men must remove it and place on the heavy pad they put down in our living room. On our third day in LA we decided to head over to Hollywood. I had read about Runyon Canyon park and the trails up the hollywood hills. This was on my 'to do' list... so glad we did it - it was so fantastic! The hike took approx 1 hour all up. The trek to the top was steep and hot (we didn't plan the timing very well - it was about midday and the sun was beaming down on us like no tomorrow!) but it was worth it ...

Drove abut 20 km Santa Monica Beach. We got there with just enough light to make out the horizon. It was good to feel the moist cool sea breeze. The beach is very broad. The pier was surprisingly underdeveloped compared to Fishermans wharf in SF. There seemed to be more locals, even fisherman.Also checked out Venice beach but it was deserted in the night.
