... up the cute little beach town of Avila and went to Maria Callender’s for a Kahalua cream pipe. We also did a little more shopping at another outlet mall just to ensure we weren’t missing anything for our South American advantage. Jay was content as we did spend some time at sport stores buying a new tent for SA.

It was so lovely spending time with Sally and Kirra in the US, you guys were outstanding tour guides and the best bit was getting to cruise ...

... Karma for our decision to choose booze over beauty the night before. So instead, we had breakfast, packed the tent and then headed out on the free bus to Hermit's Rest and ran back from there. The views were still stunning, and as it was still pretty early, there weren't too many people around. Sadly, we realised - as suspected - that cycle touring doesn't share much of a fitness crossover with running, but our sore legs and panting lungs were compensated by what must be one of ...

... and crashed on the sofas. It was stupid hot, clear blue skies, and they were playing some great chilled out music. We went with the moment and ordered more drinks and loads of food. Later that evening we regrouped, got dressed up and headed out ...

Second on our list of typical tourist things to do was Madame Tussauds wax museum. The figures are set up in cool poses so you can take stupid pictures with them. Some of them looked absolutely incredible, but others weren't as good. I think this is probably due to the fact the figures were made when the celebrities were younger and ...

... Car picked up, goodbyes, said and we are off to San Diego.
Sad to leave the hotel as it truly is marvellous. We have stayed in many hotels over the past few months and lots of hotels in previous years, however, this must rank at the loveliest hotel we have ever stayed at. It was very relaxed and the gardens a stunning. Cant wait to come back and hopefully it will not be too long.

    San Diego.....................here we come!!!!
