Arrived in LA on time after a good flight from New York. It was over 20 degrees centigrade, quite a contrast to New York. We had booked the Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood on the recommendation of one of Jamie's friends. It is famous for show business and rock n roll goings on from way back. It is authentic old Hollywood. We were allocated a downstairs room off the lobby, which we thought was a bit odd and the receptionist told us it had recently ...

... until I was trying to shove it into those boxes. Relationships crystalized and I could see with a clarity I've rarely had just how important the people I've shared my life in LA with have become. Friendships that I thought passing shown in bright light and I suffered their loss all the worse having only just realized their importance. ... so went on a little further, but too much further & we were heading towards downtown. Stopping to check where we were at, we found that we had merrily cycled on quite some distance and needed to head back. Instead we had a directional debate, as Andy and his terrible sense of direction kept trying ...

... bikini too!! And some other stuff which can be replaced but still really annoying. We contacted the resort but in the end decided the cost of the postage wasn't worth it, I can buy a new bikini and shorts for that which isn't covered in sun cream.

The next morning I went to straighten my hair and my ghd's wouldn't turn on! This is like a "omg my life is over" moment for me. I was so fed up of having my hair curly and messy that I ...

... we make it, the train we need to get empties onto the platform and disgorges hundreds of people. The trains here are probably at least 20 carriages long and carry literally hundreds of commuters. Because they are all heading into Manhattan, we now get a seat and a leisurely trip in air-conditioned comfort express to the airport.

We get out and have to walk through the terminal to pick up the air train, but practically walk straight onto it. So far, our travel plans have ...
