    ... with some new people who had arrived that day before having a much overdue earlyish night. Thursday 25th - today we walked from the hostel down along the beach to Santa Monica pier. Such nice weather and a really good walk, it was interesting to watch the poverty decrease as you move away from Venice and all the homes and restaurants become nicer closer to Santa Monica.     ... the place was a bad hotel, just compared to the casinos surrounding it, it was old, desaturated with orange and gold colored carpets, and had low ceilings. The hotel itself was not bad at all, it had just suffered the test of time, which probably gave it the reputation it had. We checked into our room on the tenth floor, went to CVS to grab some food, and hung out for a bit before going to bed.

    ... to get there, which was full of beautiful homes. The Center is an amazing place with a little tram that takes you up the hill to a very modern, yet lovely, building with the most incredible range of art contained in it. There is also a beautiful garden to be enjoyed.
