... in the hire car. Our pre-dawn start was intended to avoid detection at the campground, but it also worked out well because - after eating breakfast in the car and grabbing a cheeky coffee in Sedona - we arrived at the Slide Rock State Park bang on opening time to find we had it all to ourselves. The lady very casually told us, well I will check you in as is but TSA may not let you upstairs. Totally nervous, we walked to security and smiled and held our breath. They didn't say a thing about it and let us through!! Whew! Maybe we can fix it with Aer Lingus in ...

We both had a surprisingly comfortable and long sleep in our hovel, but once we were up and dressed we were out of there like a scalded cat...!!! I had to return the key and by now the Chinese lady had been replaced in the 24hr office by her husband, who bore a strong resemblance to Mr Miyagi from the Karate Kid film...!!! Made me giggle as we wheel spun out of the car park. We noticed on driving out that the neon "No" of the "No Vacancy" sign ...
