Queen Elizabeth's style is Art Deco and tries to recapture the spirit of the QE2 and the short-lived original Queen Elizabeth, now a rusting, upturned hulk of a tourist attraction in Hong Kong Harbour. I know that most of the 'wood' on the new Queen Elizabeth is no more than brown plastic, but it's tasteful. It exudes class and draws one in to a bygone era of elegance and sophistication. Everything looked so different to what we see on TV. There were a couple of batman exhibits as it is celebrating it's 75 years and a section with the Harry potter costumes and props. The highlight though was sitting on the couch in Central Perk. Once we got back we had food ...

... desolate and fenced off. On a positive note, I was talking to a Japanese businessman from Houston one night at the hotel, and he said that many construction companies were setting up business in the region now, as it was starting to boom and make real progress on reconstruction. In true spirit of trains, planes and automobiles, we decided to hire a car for the last leg of our trip in USA. It was also by far the most economical option for us, with a hire cost of only 28 dollars per ...
