... pillows had dribble stains. Shell & Richard's mattress had a large, suspicious rust-coloured stain, and the sheet had holes in it, which Shell discovered in the process of attempting to get out of bed and getting her feet stuck in them. At least the water was hot.
The cold rash that began in Chicago has developed in line with my stress levels; I now have it from my knees to my ribs. Joy.
