... architect of the late 1800's and early 1900s. Rana was just as impressed as we had been in 2012. We had to follow this up with a visit to one of his designs, built in Madison after his death - the Minona Terraces Convention Centre sitting on the shores of Lake Minona but not dominating it. Wisconsin's magnificent Capitol, seat of Government and Supreme Court and second only to the National Capitol in Washington was our next port of ...

... of years ago parts of Wisconsin were under ice and when this thawed, the Wisconsin River forced its way through the soft sandstone and eventually linked with the Mississippi River further west. ... will often be said before the meal - and in some homes God is acknowledged more in this holiday than at Christmas!) The seasonal greeting in the lead up is "Happy Thanksgiving", and this is heard frequently. Our first Thanksgiving was at Kathy's father's retirement home. We had booked ahead as there were two settings held just over a week ahead of the holiday Thursday. It was a grander meal than their regular evening meal and many of the residents had guests. The various parts ...

    Aaron Shust Concert

Wednesday afternoon we drove just over an hour westward into Wisconsin to a smallish town called Janesville. A church had organised a Christian music concert with Aaron Shust. Supporting artists were 'Mikeschair', Johnny Diaz and Lauren Daigle. Aaron Shust has been a favourite of mine (Lisa) in the past year and I was very blessed (all of us were) to be there, hear him ...
