... I flew from Perth to Florida at the end of April, and my lab work officially started last week, ironically on the day of my 40th birthday. What a way to celebrate!

I'm drowning in hippo dung, but things are going well so far. Lots of exciting information will be forth-coming soon! And I am sure I will have time to have an adventure or two while I am here, so there may also be some more fun travel blogs in the future. But ...

Ok - so because we dipped on the Red-cockaded Woodpecker we decided to give it another run after class. We were joined by another special guest: the one and only ...

... this flight was then delayed by ninety minutes! Given our early start from Paris it was a good job that it was just a two mile drive from Jacksonville Airport to our hotel as we were both cream crackered and in need of sleep after twenty four hours of travelling.

So today is probably really the start of the Road Trip itself as it was just a short drive to reach the Florida coastline. It would ...

... She flies in here on Tuesday from Indianapolis. Leah's getting excited about her visit. Shari will be here for two weeks. We will visit with her for a couple of days and then we're off again to our next Great Adventure.
Leon and I had lunch at Salt Life Shack and then strolled Jacksonville ...
