Motel 6 Gillette

... the Black Hills thru stone tunnels, pigtail bridges, needles highway and ending at the Crazy Horse Monument. This is a work in progress that began in 1948 and hoping for completion around 2048. Crazy huh?
We ended our day at Roughlock Falls near Spearfish, SD. On to Yellowstone tomorrow, weather permitting.

Starting back.......Traveled thru the Bighorns on our way to Gillette. They were incredible. Had to stop for a herd of cattle that cowboys were rounding up and driving them on horseback to the transport trucks. Just had to stop and wait patiently. They still have to ride and find the cattle the on horseback.......the same way they did it 100 years ago.

... the Friday night final night, suppose to have a 24 inch shell and a huge fireball , and some other spectaculer works, we will stay all 5 nighrts next 5 year to be sure its raining and cold here tonight, glad we are pointing our car south, cause altho this is a nice place to visit no way Id want to ever spend another winter here as long as I live!!!!

Tonight we ate at a really good restraunt in Gillette called the Chop House, Susie and I shared a filet, we went to the fire works ameture competion, The anouncer said that Dicovery Chanel was there all week filming for a upcoming show on fireworks, after Supper we visited my moms cousin wife, Shirley.

... No, it was not a bad feeling, just a different one. I hadn't been to my hometown, for more than a few hours, for over 4 years. It had changed so much and so had I. I had a chocked up feeling in my throat and I felt like I wanted to cry, but couldn't figure out why. ... and secondly because we stopped at the Steakhouse and I had the nicest bison burger I've ever tasted, ok it was the only bison burger I'd ever tasted but even Lee thought it was nicer than his beef burger. I did feel a tad guilty though as staring right above me was a stuffed bisons head on the wall.. We decided that as we'd diverted so much anyway we might as well go to yellowstone national park. It sounds quite cool from the Lonely Planet so we might as well bite ...
